We’re delighted to announce that Stori tenant, Maria, has been shortlisted as Tenant of the Year for TPAS Good Practice Awards 2023!
Maria was nominated for her dedication in helping create a positive culture for Stori’s tenants and clients. She has actively participated in improving our services, influenced our communications, and continues to have a significant impact on our tenant engagement.
Maria was first referred to Stori for accommodation and housing support when she was in a very ‘dark’ place and was extremely vulnerable. She embraced the support provided by Stori, learning new coping strategies. As her circumstances improved, she started helping others create their own positive future.
She has become a ‘go to’ person who’s always willing to offer her time, knowledge, and experience to support others who are struggling, and offer advice on how to improve and promote our services to other organisations. She is an active member of our Client Engagement and Tenant Focus groups where she continues to inform our policies and procedures.
Maria also helps others by volunteering for the Cariad MAM’s team. MAM’s are specialists in providing trauma awareness training/counselling and providing tools to break the cycle of trauma. She has acted as a “Buddy” for clients and has supported others through all the workshops. Maria helps to provide a safe space for others to be able to discuss their views and feelings and is passionate about ensuring everyone is included and have the opportunity for their voices to be heard.
Necia, Stori Director of Operations, said:
“This is fantastic news! Maria works with an open heart that is inclusive and uplifting. Her energy and enthusiasm is a key driver in getting things done and finding new and innovate ways of achieving positive results. She deserves this and more.”
Maria with some of our team members are looking forward to attend the TPAS Good Practise Awards 2023 Evening on the 5th of July, where the winner of the Tenant of the Year Award will be announced.
