Stori Holds Its 2023 Annual General Meeting

In September, we had the pleasure of hosting our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the National Botanic Gardens and showcased Stori’s work across Wales. It was a remarkable day that brought together our dedicated staff and valued stakeholders to celebrate Stori’s accomplishments over the past year.

Our new CEO, Andrew Belcher, led the morning session where the chairs of each board committee presented their reports for the year, including a presentation of our accounts; our auditors were appointed; new board members were formally appointed; and Stori Annual Report 2022-23 launched.

We were privileged to have Katie Dalton, Director of Cymorth Cymru, join us for an engaging speech that focused on the contribution that Stori has made over the years in working towards ending homelessness and supporting people. Our special guest and ambassador Paul Thorburn, former International Welsh Rugby player, shared his insights on how sports can help prevent domestic violence and/or support survivors’ wellbeing and recovery.

A highlight of the morning was hearing from Stori client Maria, sharing her personal journey and the transformative impact of the support she received from Stori.

In the afternoon, everyone had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions led by our expert staff. These sessions covered essential topics such as Understanding Coercive and Controlling Behaviour and demonstrations of the Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit and the Parent Nurturing Programme.

There was plenty of time to network over lunch and to check out display stands that exhibited the work we do across Wales, including stands from Torfaen’s CYP Project, MAMs Programme, and various Staff Network groups.
