At Stori, we are dedicated to preventing homelessness by providing safe, stable living environments that alleviate the stress and anxiety often caused by housing instability. That’s why we are excited to share that this autumn, we have launched two new supported accommodation projects in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
On September 6th, we introduced our first project, a temporary accommodation facility for women with multiple and co-occurring needs. Following months of development and renovations, the property has been transformed into a three-bedroom House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO). This space provides 24- hour trauma-informed support, offering women a secure environment where they can reclaim control of their lives.
In celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we launched our second project, designed to support young people at risk of homelessness in the RCT area. This 24-hour service consists of four self-contained flats, providing a safe and supportive home for young individuals on their path to independent living.
Our approach to support focuses on fostering opportunities and shared responsibilities, empowering individuals to move towards independence. By building trusting relationships and providing stable housing, we help ensure that the people we support feel confident, knowing they have a reliable and consistent support system.
With both projects now up and running, we’re thrilled to continue being part of the Local Authority’s commitment to preventing homelessness in RCT. We extend our thanks to our community partners, commissioners, clients for joining us for the launch of the projects and to our dedicated Stori team who have worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring these projects to life.
