Stori is excited to share the news that it has secured funding through the Welsh Government’s Optimised Retrofit Programme. This initiative aims to enhance the energy efficiency of existing properties in Wales, making them more affordable to heat and reducing carbon emissions.
Stori plans to collaborate with tenants in 2024 to implement improvements, starting with the installation of specialised sensors in homes. The funding aligns with the Welsh Government’s goal for net zero emissions and supports Stori’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. The efforts are also expected to result in warmer homes and reduced energy bills for tenants, addressing financial challenges amid the cost-of-living crisis.
Stori Housing Manager Stuart Mander says “Our aim is to continue to build on the exciting opportunity the Optimised Refit scheme is providing us by ensuring we can continue to improve and evolve our housing provision for years to come.”
